Dance Gavin Dance shared the sad news with fans on Thursday (April 14th) that bass player Tim Feerick, passed away on Wednesday. A cause of death was not revealed.

The band shared the following statement via social media, "We are absolutely devastated to share the news that our friend and bass player, Tim Feerick, passed away last night. (read more)


(hennemusic) Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is sharing the track, "High Plains Drifter", as a preview to the April 23 Record Store Day release of his debut solo project, "Portals."

Movie fans will recognize the song's title from its inspiration, the classic 1973 Clint Eastwood western of the same name. The song "was not meant to be specifically music for that film, but it was once it was written, I immediately thought it conveyed the same sentiment as the film, so the piece was christened accordingly," explains Hammett. (hennemusic) David Bowie's estate has announced the first details of a brand new documentary about the music icon that will be entitled "Moonage Daydream."

Directed by Brett Morgan, the project - which is nearing its completion - is billed as "a new feature film, concert documentary and experiential cinematic odyssey" that follows Bowie's life and musical career. (read more)


So Cal rockers Dishwalla have released a music video for their brand new single "Alive", which is the title track to their forthcoming EP and their first new music in five year.

The visual was captured in the mountains above the group's hometown of Santa Barbara, Ca and features them performing a top an abandoned water tower. (read more)


Architects frontman Sam Carter has released his first children's book 'Sophia Fox Dog Gets Adopted', which was co-written with his fiance Abby Kirk and was illustrated by Victoria Chexner .

We were sent these details: The book was written when Abby was working in a school with many children who had been in foster care or through the adoption process. They realized that those kids' stories were largely not represented in children's books and wanted to write a book for the class to show that their stories were important too. (read more)

OTTTO and Bastardane, the bands featuring the sons of Metallica frontman James Hetfield and bassist Rob Trujillo, are teaming up for a coheadlining tour of the west coast.

This is my first single, and it just recently got released. I have aleady worked on tons of my own material and produced other songs. This song had a different feel, a different meaning for me - me and Cali Capone were in the studio playing around with different beats and ideas one night, and the rest just developed organically.
