New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert shared the bad news with fans that he is undergoing surgery after a new pheochromocytoma tumor on his spin.

Gilbert had another tumor of the same type removed late last year and following that successful surgery, he declared in January that he was "cancer free". (read more)


Grim Reaper frontman Steve Grimmett has died at the age of 62. His wife Millie said in a social media posting that his passing was sudden and unexpected.

Millie wrote on the Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper Facebook page, "This is the hardest thing I've ever had to write but it's with a heavy & shattered heart to say that my beloved Steve died suddenly & unexpectedly on Monday 15th August. (read more)


(hennemusic) Alice In Chains will release multiple 30th anniversary vinyl editions of their 1992 album, "Dirt", on September 23rd. The follow-up to the group's 1990 debut, "Facelift", was the Seattle outfit's first US Top 10 based on extensive touring and rock radio airplay for tracks like "Them Bones," "Down In A Hole" and "Rooster."

Produced Dave Jerden and Alice in Chains, "Dirt" went on to sell more than 5 million copies in the US alone. The 30th anniversary series features a remastered 2LP set that will be available in multiple packages, including a black vinyl edition (preorder here and a Walmart exclusive apple red variant pressing, with news that a band exclusive translucent orange variant has already sold-out via the band's website. Moonspell have announced that they have been forced to cancel their North American Tour that was to also feature Swallow The Sun and Witherfall, due to "unsolvable logistic and transportation problems".

The band shared the following update, "Dear North American fans. "We have no other option than to cancel our American Fullmoon tour with Swallow The Sun and Witherfall that would start August 25th in NY and end September 19th in Boston. (read more)


(hennemusic) Liam Gallagher is streaming audio of a live version of "Diamond In The Dark" as recorded during his June 2022 shows at Knebworth Park and featured as the title track on his new EP of the same name.

Gallagher launched his latest album, "C'Mon You Know", with two nights at the legendary UK venue where Oasis had famously played in the past. The "Diamond In The Dark" EP includes three version of the song: the original studio recording, the Knebworth performance and a DJ Premier Remix, as well as a cover of the 1974 John Lennon track, "Bless You." (hennemusic) Whitesnake are streaming a 2022 remix of their 1989 track, "Sweet Lady Luck", from their new remixed and remastered "Greatest Hits" collection.

The rarity from "Slip Of The Tongue" first surfaced as the B-Side of the album's 12" single, "The Deeper The Love/Judgment Day", before it was included in a 20th anniversary reissue of the set in 2009. (read more)


Australian alt-rockers Tamala Park Book Club just released their new single "Cut My Teeth", and to celebrate we asked Patrick de Rooy to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

The song started with the verse riff. I was hearing the punchy backbeat of the drums and knew I had to make this into an aggressive, angsty tune with lyrics to match. To contrast, I wanted soaring vocal harmonies in the refrain and chorus, something an audience could sing along to, shouting 'oh oh' with the music. The 'hey hey hey's were added at the last minute to grab the listener's attention early on. We added bits of colour to craft it as a hard-hitting, alternative rock anthem. (continue)


Ramin Djawadi's Westworld: Season 4 (Soundtrack from the HBO Series) has just been released and is now available to stream and download at all digital retailers.

As has been Djawadi's thematic approach on each of his Westworld soundtracks from HBO's Emmy-winning drama series, the 34-track album features the lauded composer's original music along with unique versions of well-known songs which were originally performed by Radiohead, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, Metallica, Lana Del Rey, Nine Inch Nails, and Lou Reed - all of which were heard throughout Westworld: Season 4. Blake Shelton has announced that he will be releasing a new single and music video, called "No Body", this Friday, August 19th. Press On Publicity sent over the following details:

Shelton moved to Nashville in the 1990s to follow his country music dreams. With the release this week of his new single, "No Body," Shelton once again feels like a teenager. "I get excited and feel like a kid every time we release new music," said Shelton. "But this song in particular takes me back to the '90s when I was in high school and first moved to Nashville, because it feels like what the music sounded like at that time." (read more)


The Memphis Music Hall Of Fame have announced that their 2022 Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 15 and will honor Booker T. Jones, Mavis Staples, Ronnie Milsap, Priscilla Presley, Billy Lee Riley, Fred Fors, Jim Gaines, and J.M Van Eaton.

Here is the official announcement: More so than virtually any other city in the world, Memphis celebrates a panoply of musical giants whose talent and achievements are a reflection of a rich diversity of genres. Through its annual Memphis Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, now celebrating its10th anniversary, eight additional world-changing legends are to be honored next month at a ceremony set to take place at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Memphis, bringing the roster of inductees to a total of 90. The Memphis Music Hall of Fame's program of inductions began in 2012 and continues to be administered by the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum. (read more)


Carrie Underwood will star in the show open for NBC's Sunday Night Football for the 10th consecutive season beginning in September on NBC and Peacock.
