Day in Rock Report for 09/12/2022
Def Leppard paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II during the final stop of the Stadium Tour that took place on September 9th in Las Vegas, NV, a day after the Queen passed away at the age of 96.
The summer trek saw Def Leppard and Motley Crue coheadline stadiums across the U.S., joined by Poison and during the final stop Def Leppard dedicated the song "This Guitar" (from their recently released album, "Diamond Star Halos"), to Queen Elizabeth II. (read more)
Former Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di'Anno is recovering from leg surgery in Croatia, according to the legendary vocalist's friend and caretake Stjepan Juras.
Stjepan shared, "In short... the operation is over, the doctor is satisfied, he solved the problem. Paul's skin is now being stitched up and he will be woken up soon. If the wound heals well, the operation can be considered a success." (read more)
The L.I.F.E. Project, the project featuring Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand and Paralandra vocalist Casandra Carson, have released a video for their brand new single called "Dying Of The Light".
The video features footage captured of the group on the road after they debuted the song live during their recent US tour dates with Alice In Chains, Breaking Benjamin and Bush. (read more)
Classic rock veterans Vanilla Fudge will be releasing their remastered album "Vanilla Zeppelin" digitally on September 30th via Golden Robot Records.
They have previously shared three remastered versions of their covers of the Led Zeppelin classics "Rock and Roll," "Immigrant Song" and "Ramble On". (read more)
The 50th anniversary of prog legend Yes' "Close To The Edge" album is being celebrated by the syndicated radio show In The Studio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands.
Redbeard had this to say, "The third jewel in the YES triple crown recorded in barely a year, YES Close to the Edge released in September 1972 is, for some fans, arguably their best. But there is no argument that Close to the Edge, even fifty years later, is on every Progressive Rock fan's Top Five all time list. We gather four of the brilliantly gifted YES musicians who made it here In the Studio, including vocalist/lyricist Jon Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Bill Buford, and keyboard player Rick Wakeman to recall fondly creating and recording 'Siberian Khatru','And You and I', and the epic eighteen minute 'Close to the Edge'. Icelandic rockers The Vintage Caravan have released a music video for their new single, "Hell". The track comes from the band's latest studio album, "Monuments".
Singer/guitarist Oskar had this to say about the track, "'Hell' is a personal song about going through a tough time in a relationship but seeing the light in the end of the tunnel that keeps you in that situation but you never reach it. (read more)
Killboy has released a music video for her new single, "Nails", which is the follow up to the previously released track "Daddy Issues". Both wukk ve included on from her forthcoming EP, "My Crush".

Rock supergroup The Dead Daisies just released a new single called "Face Your Fear" (from their forthcoming album, "Radiance", and to celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
So 'Face Your Fear' was a sleeper track. We weren't sure how strong it was going to be but it turned out great! The track was initially started in the summer of 2020 during the pandemic we were in a lockdown and Glenn & Doug got together to start putting together some songs as we had nothing else to do as we were locked down.
