Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang should be the one to play his famous late father's guitar parts at the proposed Van Halen tribute concert says the guitarist who was originally approached for the show, Joe Satriani.

Wolfgang performed the tree Van Halen classics "On Fire", "Hot For Teacher" and "Panama" during his appearances at the two Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts. (read more)


Foreigner have announced that they will be returning to Las Vegas next year to launch a brand new residency show at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

The new run of residency shows will be kicking off on March 24th, followed by shows on March 25th, 29th and 31st and April 1st, 5th, 7th and they will wrap up the series on April 8th. (read more)


Cage Fight have released a lyric video for their brand new single "Eating Me Alive" that features the late, great Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder.

One of - if not the final - recording by Strnad, the video was originally planned for May 13, which was Cage Fight's album release day. But the drop was postponed due to Strnad's tragic unexpected passing just days before. Trevor's support for singer Rachel Aspe's work played a key role in the formation of Cage Fight, which is why his contribution to their debut album is so special. And the subject matter - struggles with anxiety and mental health - makes this poignant song even more significant. (read more)


Black Veil Brides have revealed more details about their forthcoming EP, The Mourning, which will be released on October 21st and features the hit single "Savior II".

The new 4-song EP was produced and mixed by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Bush and The Faim). Andy Biersack had this to say about the effort, "We are so excited to share The Mourning with our fans who have supported us for so many years. Queensryche have released a music video clip for their new song "Hold On" which comes from the band's just released new studio album, Digital Noise Alliance.

The band said of the song, "'Hold On' primarily focuses on the misfortune of social media and how this new societal landscape has become a false barometer of ones' value, essentially, influencing and affecting peoples' self-worth. (read more)


The 35th anniversary of INXS' Kick album is being celebrated by the syndicated radio show In The Studio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands.

Redbeard had this to say, "It just does not seem possible that Kick by INXS turns thirty-five in October, and that goes double after you listen to the breathtaking remastered Atmos multi-channel version. Keyboard player/songwriter Andrew Farriss is joined by multi-instrumentalist Kirk Pengilly and guitarist Tim Farriss here In the Studio to share the backstory behind 'New Sensation', 'Devil Inside', 'Never Tear Us Apart', 'Need You Tonight', and the stunning 'Kick' title song. Sator have released a new music video for their track "Brown Eyed Son". The song comes from the band's latest album Return of the Barbie-Q-Killers, which was released earlier this year.

The video was recorded at Sator's show at Partille Arena on September 16th. Chips Kiesbye had this to say, "What a great tour it was! We will take a short break now, but we will be back in 2023 for more shows. (read more)


Blur's Dave Rowntree has premiered a music video for his new single, "Devil's Island." The track comes his forthcoming debut solo album, Radio Songs, which will arrive on January 20th, 2023.

The video was directed by Guy Gotto and was shot on location in the UK, stretching from Hythe to Dungeness, Kent. Dave had this to say, "I was keen to work with Guy Gotto, who makes gorgeous and interesting video art. He visualized the song as a journey through a bleak but beautiful landscape. (read more)


The Black Moods have announced that they will be making their triumphant homecoming on December 9th with a special headlining set at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ.

The group has been busy on the road promoting their new album, Into The Night, which arrived in June. "We are so excited to be back at Marquee Theater on December 9," exclaim the band. "There's nothing like playing one of the best theaters in AZ to our home crowd." (read more)

King Crimson is the subject of the new feature documentary titled "In the Court of the Crimson King, King Crimson at 50", which is releasing in select U.S. theaters on October 19th.

The film will also receive a worldwide one-night-only digital event release on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2022, to follow its world premiere at SXSW in March. (read more)


Washington DC supergroup Ecstatic International have shared a new track called "Disruptor," which is the second single from their forthcoming self-titled EP that arrives on October 14th.

The band Ecstatic International formed by G. L. Jaguar shortly after Priests played their final show on New Year's Eve 2019. Laura Harris, drummer of Ex Hex, found herself in a similar situation. When the pandemic put everything on hold, the two longtime friends pushed forward putting the band together with new friend and bandmate Nikhil Rao. (read more)


The Kelly Deco Band have released a stream of their new song "Automat Girl", which comes from their forthcoming album, Constellation", which will arrive on December 2nd.

Hailing from California, the band's leader describes his music as "Retro-futuristic, rock, love, and fantasy. Songs with a mix of old 70s rock and futuristic spins on Bowie, Meatloaf, Anthony Newley, and Love." (read more)


Ashville musician Barrett Davis just released his new album, The Ballad of Aesop Fin, and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about one of the tracks and he selected, "Carolina Still". Here is the story:

"Carolina Still'' is a piece that I wrote after a jam session with an old friend JT Linville. He had worked up an arrangement with me and I fell in love with what we did so the lyrics began to flow from me the very next day. It was robust and upbeat and authentic all at the same time. I wanted to put a story to work that would do my heritage justice and put out something that would make me proud of my ancestry every time I heard it. My grandfather always told me stories of my Asheville heritage. When I would visit my grandpa in Murphy, he would tell me stories of his father Gus' family-famous Buncombe County blunder.
