Sammy Hagar says in a new interview that he would love to play Van Halen with Eddie's son Wolfgang and his former bandmates Michael Anthony and Alex Van Halen, but says that the proposed tribute with a celebrity guitarist would not be Van Halen.

The former Van Halen frontman made the comments during an interview on the Trunk Nation SiriusXM show and confirmed that he was previously asked by the band's manager Irving Azoff about a special tribute event. (read more)


Brantley Gilbert has announced that he will be releasing his new single, "Heaven By Then", which features Blake Shelton and Vince Gill, to country radio on November 14th.

The track comes from Gilbert's new album, "So Help Me God", which will arrive digitally on November 10th. The song was co-written with Brock Berryhill, Michael Hardy, Jake Mitchell, Randy Montana, Hunger Phelps and Taylor Phillips. (read more)

I Surrender Records have shared Valencia's "How Valencia Stole Christmas", which is one of the tracks from their forthcoming holiday compilation, "I Surrender Sleighs".

The new album is set to be released on December 2nd and will feature 9 original Christmas songs from artists like Vinnie Caruana, We Are The Union, Punchline, and more. (read more)


Gary Moore's 12th solo album "A Different Beat", is set to be reissued by BMG on December 2nd on CD and also for the very first time on vinyl, with a special double disc set.

This album has never previously been released on vinyl, and contains new liner notes written by Dave Everley. This double vinyl release will be pressed onto transparent orange vinyl and includes bonus track 'Can't Help Myself (E-Z Rollers Remix)'. (read more)


Fire Follows, the project created by Colorado Springs musician Chris Watt, has released a lyric video for the brand new single, "Shedding This Skin.".

The song is the follow-up to the project's last single, "The Puppeteer". Watt said of the project, "There are roughly 8 billion people on the planet ya? So the goal is simple, get all 8 billion to hear the music from Fire Follows. (read more)


Psychedelic jam band Lost Pyramid released their debut album, "Monsters Under My Bed", and to celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track, "Party In The Rain". Here is the story:

Party in the Rain has been a song that has been evolving over the years. I first wrote the beginning section of the song and knew that I had a nice little verse and chorus section, but knew that it needed something so that idea was put on the side for a while. About a year after that while laying in bed I came up with the melody that turned into the ending of the song a few weeks later when it struck me to put the two separate sections together. As soon as I did it just felt right and the two parts flowed together so nicely, allowing for a nice stretch of improvisational jamming as well. (continue)


(hennemusic) Guitarist Rick Nielsen has been temporarily sidelined from Cheap Trick's current fall US tour as he recovers after undergoing a "minor procedure".

"A few days ago, Rick had a minor procedure that requires him to stay off the road for this week and not travel," shared the group on social media. "Robin Taylor Zander will be stepping up this weekend. We look forward to Rick rejoining the guys on the west coast later next week." (read more)

(hennemusic) David Bowie's team is streaming newly-upgraded video footage of a 1972 UK television performance of "Queen Bitch" ahead of the November 25 release of an expansive box set featuring unreleased material from the year leading up the release of his late 1971 album, "Hunky Dory."

"Queen Bitch" joined "Oh! You Pretty Things" and "Five Years" from "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars" as one of three songs the rocker delivered on The Old Grey Whistle Test just days before the launch of the first Ziggy Stardust tour. (read more)


(hennemusic) Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers are sharing an animated video of their performance of the 1972 JJ Cale classic, "Call Me The Breeze", from the forthcoming release of "Live at the Fillmore 1997."

The full music video was directed and animated by Emmy Award-winning Jeff Scher, whose collection of work is displayed in a number of prominent galleries, including New York City's Museum of Modern Art. (read more)

An 8 Disc boxed set containing 2 Blu-Rays, 2 DVDs and 4 CDs will follow on December 2nd.

The 8 Disc boxed set includes the full King Crimson film, an early edited version of the film, a live concert from the 50th anniversary tour and a unique camera-only performance, plus a plethora of additional footage. 8 discs packaged in 4 miniature gatefold sleeves, with a 48-page booklet housed in a rigid outer case. Booklet includes notes from film director Toby Amies, David Singleton and Robert Fripp. Also includes the music from the original soundtrack and more, over 4 CDs, many tracks previously unreleased and/or new to CD.
