Ozzy Osbourne recently revealed that he has finished his brand new album that will feature a number of legendary special guests, but one legend that turned down a request to appear on the record was Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

The new album will include appearances from Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Ozzy's Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. Page explained why he turned down the invitation to Classic Rock (via NME), "I will never be one of those people who'll record alone and send someone a file. I never went into music in the first place to do that - it was for playing together." (read more)


(hennemusic) Legendary Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is sharing a preview of the launch of season 5 of his weekly podcast series Digging Deep, where he goes into detail about the music from his long career.

The rocker says the series "will return from April 18" and "will delve into his back catalogue weekly with Matt Everitt to tell stories of inspiration, collaboration and intervention. Brand new episodes to be released every Monday. " (read more)


(hennemusic) The Who will perform on the Friday, April 15 episode of CBS-TV's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The appearance comes ahead of the launch of the band's North American tour in Hollywood, FL on April 22.

"The Who Hits Back!" series will see Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend return to the stage alongside some of the finest orchestras in the U.S. and Canada, under the direction of conductor Keith Levenson. (read more)


(hennemusic) Legendary Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler is sharing an update on his forthcoming autobiography and he is now pondering titles for the project.

"Just turned in the 1st draft of my book so I'm now thinking of titles," Butler tweeted. "So far, I have: Into the Void, Basses Loaded, Past Forward, What The Butler Did, Bassic Instinct. Feel free to send me which of those you think would suit my autobiography." (read more)


Thunder have shared a lyric video for their brand new single "Across the Nation". The track comes from their forthcoming album, "Dopamine", which will arrive on April 29th.

Luke had this to say about the new track, "This is a very direct song, about being in a band but not being able to tour. The frustration we feel because of that is huge, so we're very much looking forward to the time when we can get out there and play. (read more)


Stereobabe, featuring Leann Banks (The Von Bondies) and Ted Lamont (Blasternaut), have released a music video for their brand new single "Tumbleweed".

They had this to say about the track, "While in pandemic lockdown, we started jamming a riff together. We ultimately thought the word 'Tumbleweed' fit really well, and gave us a lyrical direction to take the song. (read more)


Miranda Lambert is in celebration mode after her collaboration with Elle King, "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)," claimed the No. 1 spot on both Billboard's Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Charts.

Lambert had this to say, "'Drunk' is number 1! Elle is one of my favorite artists and one of my favorite people to be around. I am proud to call her my friend and I'm so glad she asked me to do song this song with her. (read more)


Pittsburgh rockers Ghost Hounds just released their cover of the Howlin' Wolf classic "Smokestack Lightning", and to celebrate we asked guitarist Johnny Baab to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

Back in May 2021 when we were recording our blues record, You Broke Me, we were trying out a bunch of different blues standards to cover for the release. We had been off for some time because of the pandemic, so it was a really fun process of just jamming on some classics with the band. One day our guitarist Thomas came in with that "lightbulb" expression and cued up Howlin' Wolf's "Smokestack Lightning." (continue)
