(hennemusic) Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has revealed in a new interview that Alex Van Halen recently attempted to organize a new Van Halen concert tour.

Newsted tells the Palm Beach Post that he was invited to go to California six months ago to jam with the drummer and guitarist Joe Satriani with the intention of playing live dates. (read more)


(hennemusic) Members of Soundgarden and Nirvana have formed a new supergroup called 3rd Secret. The band sees Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron joined by Void guitarist Bubba Dupree, and vocalists Jennifer Johnson and Jillian Raye, who also perform with Novoselic's other band, Giants in the Trees.

On April 11, 3rd Secret released the digital and streaming edition of their self-titled album debut, whose origins date back to the summer of 2020 when Novoselic and Raye started collaborating on new material. (read more)

Massachusetts trio Valleyheart have released a music video for their new single "The Numbers". The song comes from their forthcoming sophomore album, "Heal My Head", which will arrive on June 3rd via Tooth & Nail.

Ray Charles' Tangerine Records has announced that it is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of one of Charles most important and impactful albums; A Message from The People, and have released a video for "America the Beautiful".

This special remastered 50th Anniversary edition of the landmark recording, will be available June 17th on Vinyl, CD and all streaming services for the first time in more than 10 years. (read more)


Rain Perry is releasing her new record "A White Album" this week and to celebrate, she tells us about the inspiration for the album's first single "The Money." Here is the story:

I'm happy we chose this song as the first single for A White Album, because it's about a topic that was my introduction to why we're still struggling in this country with inequality. A while ago, I had a conversation with a teacher friend in Oakland about redlining, which was a policy of enforced segregation of neighborhoods by the Federal Housing Administration in the post WWII era.
