Pink Floyd's 'Animals' is set to be reissued on Deluxe Gatefold, CD, LP, Blu-ray and SACD. The individual versions will be available on September 16, 2022 with the Deluxe version available from October 7, 2022. This is the first time the album will have been available on 5.1 Surround Sound.

Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977.. It was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976 and early 1977, and was produced by the band themselves. The successful album peaked at number 2 in the UK and number 3 in the US, and is considered as one of the band's best works. The album was recorded by band members David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright. (read more)


Hellfest in Clisson, France, returned with two sold-out weekends packed with some of the biggest names in rock and metal music. It also hosted the first international memorialization of the Grammy-award winning rock legend, Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, with a ceremony featuring band members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee which was witnessed by tens of thousands of fans.

"It was a very unique ceremony for a very rare and much loved man," said Motorhead's manager Todd Singerman, "Lemmy was a true road warrior, and starting with this historic Hellfest ceremony, we can continue to make sure he remains one." (read more)


Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta has purchased the rights to the Milwaukee Metalfest and has big plans for the reboot of the iconic event next year. We were sent the following details:

"I am so grateful and thrilled that [founder] Jack Koshick has passed the Milwaukee Metalfest torch off to me," Jasta states. "He is a visionary and we will carry on the MMF legacy for years to come. (hennemusic) Metallica are sharing video of a performance of their 1991 smash, "Enter Sandman", from a June 15 appearance at the Copenhell festival in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The lead single from "Metallica" delivered the California band's commercial breakthrough as their first studio record to top the US charts; the project remains the top-selling album in the US since MRC Data began electronically tracking music sales in 1991, with 17.3 million copies sold. Today Is The Day are continuing to celebrate their 30th anniversary and have shared a teaser video for a special limited edition vinyl reissue of their "Willpower" album that is set to be released on August 5th. We were sent the following details:

Today Is The Day's second album, Willpower was originally released in September of 1994 on the infamous Amphetamine Reptile roster. Having gnawed their way into the scene on their Supernova debut, Willpower showcased the same lineup as its predecessor yet delivered an even more expansive and monstrous demonstration of the band's demented and singular sound. Drummer Brad Elrod, bassist Mike Herrell, and vocalist/guitarist/producer Steve Austin delivered what would become an instant benchmark in underground metal which remains a fan favorite among the band's vast catalog nearly three decades later. Tedeschi Trucks Band have premiered I Am The Moon: Episode II. Ascension, the second of their epic, four-part album series, I Am The Moon. Fans can stream the album length companion visual from filmmaker Alix Lambert now ahead of its digital and CD release this Friday, July 1st, 2022.

In his illuminating bio notes, celebrated music journalist David Fricke explains, "Ascension - the second record in I Am The Moon is rightly named. Brett Young's smash single "In Case You Didn't Know" has been certified 8X Platinum by the RIAA and becomes one of only three country songs since 2017 to achieve the honor.

Young wrote the "heart-tugging" (PEOPLE) track, which has remained a fan favorite since its release, alongside Trent Tomlinson and Tyler Reeve (read more)


When Rivers Meet have announced that they will be releasing their new live album, "The Flying Free Tour Live" on July 29th on CD, DVD, vinyl, and digital. The CD and DVD will include a 12-page collectible booklet.

The live album was taken from recordings and footage from three concerts during WRM's 17-date April and May 2022 headline UK tour. "Our first-ever headline tour was amazing," says WRM's lead singer Grace Bond. "We wanted to capture some of the incredible moments. We've always enjoyed listened to and watching live recordings, and it's been a dream of ours to create our very own." (read more)


The String Cheese Incident have announced that they will return to Runaway Bay, Jamaica for two back-to-back, all-inclusive Intimate International Incidents early next year.

They will be joined this time by bluegrass royalty Sam Bush and his band (Jan 20-24, 2023), and world-renowned rock legends Los Lobos (Jan 24-28, 2023). (read more)


Brisbane-based indie rockers The Valery Trails just released their new single, "Jaisalmer", from their forthcoming album, "The Sky Is Blue," and to celebrate we asked Andrew Bower to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

At the end of May 2019, my family and I set off on a 14-month round-the-world trip. We found a tenant for our house and moved my guitars and recording equipment into storage with our other possessions, taking time away from the routines we had fallen into living in Houston, Texas, for over a decade.
