(hennemusic) The Rolling Stones No Filter Tour has topped the list of the live music industry magazine Pollstar's highest-grossing worldwide tours of 2021. The band's two-month US series sold 516,000 tickets and brought in $115.5 million to lead the year-end tally.

The rescheduled "No Filter" trek - which opened in St. Louis, MO on September 26 - saw the Stones host their first-ever live series without drummer Charlie Watts, who died ina London hospital on August 24 at the age of 80 after hand-picking his friend Steve Jordan to sit in for him while recovering from an undisclosed surgery prior to his passing. (hennemusic) Pink Floyd have released a dozen vintage live albums from the early 1970s. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the band hasn't publicly commented on the recordings, all of which feature the group in performance between 1970 and 1972.

The series of live albums capture Pink Floyd during a period where they released the pre-"Dark Side Of The Moon" studio records "Atom Heart Mother" (1970), "Meddle (1971)", and 1972's "Obscured By Clouds." (read more)


Rush are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their blockbuster album 'Moving Pictures' by making rare photo outtakes available. We were sent the following details:

Photographer Deborah Samuel is credited for capturing the now-iconic album cover images for the Rush albums 'Permanent Waves,' 'Moving Pictures,' 'Exit...Stage Left,' and 'Signals.' Now in the 40th anniversary year of 'Moving Pictures' - long considered one of rock's all-time classic albums - fans will be able to obtain extremely rare photograph outtakes from the album cover shoot. (hennemusic) Bruce Springsteen performed at the 7th Annual John Henry's Friends Benefit concert in New York City on December 13th and some fan filmed footage has been shared online.

Organized and hosted by Steve Earle at The Town Hall, Springsteen delivered a four-song set backed by Earle's band, the Dukes, that included "Darkness On The Edge Of Town", "The Promised Land", "Glory Days" and "Pink Cadillac." (read more)


Wolves In The Throne Room have announced that they have been forced to cancel their upcoming early 2022 North American tour "due to personal reasons."

The month-long trek was set to include support from Full Of Hell and Uada and was scheduled to run from January 11th in Seattle until February 11th in Portland, OR. (read more)


(hennemusic) Heart singer Ann Wilson has shared a live video of a cover of The Who's 1971 classic, "Won't Get Fooled Again", that was captured during her summer US tour.

The lead single from "Who's Next" was rocked by Wilson and her band, The Amazing Dawgs, as the closing number of the group's first set during an August 18 show at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH. Watch the video here. (read more)

The site - which features rare photos, audiograms, video, behind the scenes content, and exclusive collectables - is opening with a special 40th Anniversary look at the band's 1981 album, "Allied Forces."

This inaugural collection will feature a selection of newly discovered artifacts personally curated by Mike Levine, Gil Moore and Rik Emmett in collaboration with Definitive Authentic; several pieces are partnered with new audio commentary directly from the band. (read more)


The Thin Cherries recently released their new single "Trouble Lights" and to celebrate we asked Mark Lofgren and Steven Delisi to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

Mark: Like many of the songs I write, "Trouble Lights" started out on acoustic guitar. I wrote it in late fall 2020, after recording my solo project, 'Black Moon Book'. I usually record rough ideas on my phone, singing melodies or phrases without writing down any specific lyrics, trying to think of the voice as just another instrument. I listen back a few days later to see if any snippets stand out, melodically or lyrically. (continue)


Sammy Hagar had a top 21 story from May 2021 after he recalled how he reconnected with former bandmate Eddie Van Halen in the months before the guitar legend's death and also spoke about their final conversation.

The former Van Halen frontman appearance on Matt Pinfield's New & Approved show on the Los Angeles radio station KLOS and explained how he tried to reach Eddie via various people including the band's manager Irving Azoff and Alex Van Halen, but it was mutual friend, George Lopez, who encourage him to call Eddie directly. KISS frontman Paul Stanley scored a top 21 story from May 2021 after he said that he is open to idea of original guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss doing reunion jams with the band on their farewell tour.

Stanley was asked about the possibility of including Ace and Peter on the upcoming End Of The Road Farewell Tour during an appearance on Inside With Paulo Baron and he responded, "I don't rule anything out. I have to say that we wouldn't be here today if not for our past. (read more)


Megadeth cofounder and bassist David Ellefson had a top 21 story from May 2021 after he denied allegations that surfaced recently that he was "grooming" a fan, and also shared a statement from the woman involved stating that she was not underage and that she approached David.

Ellefson shared the following via social media, "Dear Fans & Friends, "As you may or not know, some private and personal conversations and interactions have surfaced online, released with ill intention by a third party who was not authorized to have them or share them. While certainly embarrassing, I want to address it as openly and honestly as possible. (read more)


(hennemusic) The family of Chris Cornell has settled its lawsuit with the doctor they claimed overprescribed medication to the Soundgarden singer in the years preceding his death in 2017, which was a top 21 story from May 2021

According to Rolling Stone, the settlement between the plaintiffs - Cornell's widow Vicky and their children Toni and Christopher Nicholas - and the defendant, Robert Koblin M.D., was reached in April. (read more)


Journey frontman Arnel Pineda recruited an all-star cast of musicians to join him on a cover of the Steve Miller Band classic "Abracadabra', and released a video for the collaboration, earning a top 21 story from May 2021.

Pineda had this to say, "Here's a cover of Steve Miller Band's 'Abracadabra', from their album Abracadabra released in 1982. Big thanks to my good friends for this awesome collaboration." (read more)


Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson had a top 21 story from May 2021 after he announced that he was teaming up with filmmaker Sacha Gervasi to co-write a screenplay that will tale the story of Bruce's famed 1994 "Scream For Me Sarajevo" concert.

Bruce and his band Skunkworks were smuggled into the city during The Siege of Sarajevo and the historic show was the focus of the 2016 documentary "Scream for Me Sarajevo." (read more)


(hennemusic) Royal Blood scored a top 21 story from May 2021 when they earned their third UK chart-topper with their latest release, "Typhoons." According to the Official Charts, the project enters atop the Top 100 after selling 32,000 units, including 24,000 on physical formats and the most digital downloads of the week.

The set outsold the rest of the Top 5 combined while claiming the biggest opening week for a British act in 2021 so far. Royal Blood's third chart-topper follows 2014's "Royal Blood" and 2017's "How Did We Get So Dark?" (read more)
