Hall & Oates star Daryl Hall revealed in a new interview that he was asked to join Van Halen following the departure of original frontman David Lee Roth after their 1984 tour.

Hall made the comments during an appearance on Q104.3's Out Of The Box With Jonathan Clarke. He said, "I knew those guys really well. We actually shared some people; crew and things like that. (read more)


Ghost have announced that they will finally making their appearance as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Wednesday, March 16th, to celebrate the release of their new album "Impera".

The band were originally scheduled to appear on the late night television show back on January 20th as they gearing up to hit the road with Volbeat, but canceled the appearance to preparing for the tour. (read more)


Former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes has begun undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer, according to an update from his wife and manager Cathy Sarah Holmes.

Cathy broke the news to fans early last month that Chris had been diagnosed with cancer in the throat and neck. She shared an update on Friday (March 11th) via a crowdfunding page. She wrote, Thank you for all your messages for Chris, he really appreciates them. (read more)


Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo revealed in a recent interview that the band is working on a new album, and also shared that it will include a track featuring vocals from late frontman Kevin DuBrow.

Sarzo shared the news during an appearance on The Rock N' Roll & Coffee Show, and also said that the album will feature tracks recorded by late drummer Frankie Banali. (read more)


Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd has released a music video for his song "More Better" to celebrate the release of his brand new solo album, "Echoes And Cocoons".

He had this to say, "In 'More Better' the world I am attempting to portray is not imaginary and though, in my opinion, it would make an interesting film, it feels more important to highlight the shadow aspects of this novel technocracy we've found ourselves in today. (read more)


D.O.A. will be returning to the road this spring for a special U.S. west coast tour that will feature them playing their Hardcore 81 album in its entirety.

The Death Set will be the special guests for the 15 date trek that will be kicking off on April 5th in Seattle, WA at the Corazon and will wrap up on April 16th at the Dive Bar in Las Vegas, NV. (read more)


Joe Satriani has made the very tough decision to once again reschedule his European tour. Originally scheduled to take place in 2020 it had been rescheduled to begin in April 2022.

However, with the current Covid restrictions and quarantine mandates not yet standardized throughout the World, it has been decided that the best path forward is to reschedule once again. The new tour dates will now be moving to 2023. (read more)


Maren Morris has shared a brand new song called "Nervous". The track comes from her forthcoming album, "Humble Quest", which will arrive on March 25th.

"Am I humble enough now?" Maren asks herself sometimes. "Maybe. Or maybe I still haven't found it yet. Or maybe, who cares as long as your friends and, most importantly, you know what your heart is all about? But here's to taking the quest to find out." (read more)


Converge Bloodmoon have announced their first shows in Europe and United Kingdom this summer. The group- which features Jacob Bannon (vocals), Kurt Ballou (guitar), Nate Newton (bass), Ben Koller (drums) joined by Chelsea Wolfe, Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Converge), and Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe)- will kick off the tour on June 25th at Hellfest in France, which follows their first shows on U.S. soil in April.

The Bloodmoon collaboration first began in 2016 at Roadburn festival in The Netherlands where the seven-piece performed revamped Converge material under the name Blood Moon. The energy and rapturously received appearance inspired the group to want to make music together, though it would take several years before their schedules allowed. (read more)


Carter Brady takes fans through the recording studio in his new music video for "Chasing Vampires (Unplugged)", which is billed as "a more gentle, yet raw version" of the song.

Brady explains, "I had been wanting to do a more officially recorded acoustic version of Chasing Vampires ever since I had recorded most of my latest album 'Blue Reverb.' I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to release it as a bonus track with the rest of the album or if I wanted to release it separately at a later date. (read more)


Southern alt-rocker J.D. Huggins has released a music video for his brand new single, "Head Full Of Monsters," which comes from his debut album that is due June 17th.

He had this to say, "The song is just one of those really personal, 'heart on your sleeve' type of songs. I wrote it about some really personal experiences, like overcoming depression, anxiety, and being an extreme alcoholic for years to getting sober because I had my first child on the way to later losing my first-born son. Oceans have released a music video for their new single "Home". The track comes from the forthcoming digital EP, "Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part II: Longing".

The EP is the follow-up and second part of their "Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love" EP, which they released last year. Timo Rotten had this to say about the new single, "Home is so much more than just the place where we come from. (read more)


blacktoothed have released a video for their new single "Pulse," which features guest vocals from Kassim Auale (ex-Alazka) and comes from their just announced debut album, "JULI" (due July 29th).

Iodine Recordings has signed Attempt Survivors, which features an all-star line-up, including ex-members of Helmet, Saetia, Six Going On Seven, and Error Type:11. Their debut EP "Educated Hips" will be released on June 10th.

Though the band's moniker most directly summons to mind a failed suicide -the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline literally has a resource page entitled Attempt Survivors - the truth is that our lives are a series of sometimes interrelated, sometimes completely divergent attempts that are survived...until they're not. Which is to say, Jim Morrison didn't have to die in a bathtub to prove no one gets out of here alive. (read more)


Bryce Vine has released a music video for his brand new track "American Dream," which continues his return to his first love of '90s punk and alt-rock.

"American Dream" follows his release of "Empty Bottles" (feat. MOD SUN), that was crafted with the help of legendary pop-punk producer John Feldmann [Blink-182, Avril Lavigne]. (read more)


Due to the current restrictions and gathering limits in Western Australia, the Red Hot Summer Tour at Sandalford Estate in the Swan Valley will be rescheduled.

The sold-out show, originally slated for Saturday 2nd April, has been rescheduled to Saturday 8th October 2022. The show will feature the same line-up - Hunters & Collectors, James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera. (read more)


Houston rockers Tracing Paces have release their brand new single "No More", which they say is inspired by '70s and '80s rock and is part of their "mission to re-vitalize rock and roll."

I was driving the band van through a cornfield somewhere in Iowa in the year that George W. Bush was at the peak of his Presidential influence when it hit me. I had recently taken my second mushroom cap and the sky and corn had seemingly melted into one.
