Deftones bassist Sergio Vega took to social media late Tuesday (March 8th) to confirm that he has parted ways with the Deftones after playing with the band for twelve years.

Speculation of his departure was sparked online when Spotify and Apple Music changed the official photo of the group that they use to a shot without Vega. (read more)


Ghost have announced that they have launched a new partnership with NASCAR Xfinity Series team JD Motorsports and driver Bayley Currey and the acclaimed band will be the primary sponsor for Currey's No. 4 Chevrolet - a/k/a the "Papa 4 car" - to be unveiled at the United Rentals 200 at Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, March 12-exactly one day after the release of the band's new album, Impera.

This unique partnership marks the band's first foray into American motorsports. "I'm a musician myself," says JD Motorsports VP of Sales & Marketing Tony Priscaro, "So it's rocked working with Ghost and Loma Vista Recordings on this car. We can't wait to put the pedal to the metal.'" (read more)

(hennemusic) Metallica are streaming pro-shot video of a performance of their "Master Of Puppets" classic, "Battery", from a February 25 concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.

The tune was the opening track on the group's 1986 major label debut, which became thrash metal's first platinum album on its way to US sales of more than 6 million copies. (read more)


(hennemusic) Lynyrd Skynyrd has announced a new series of US concert dates as part of their Big Wheels Keep On Turnin' tour. The band will open the 2022 series in Scottsdale. AZ on April 9, with shows currently scheduled into late September.

Over the course of the 14 show run, Lynyrd Skynyrd will be joined by a rotating series of special guests, including Don Felder, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Outlaws, and the Devon Allman Project. (read more)

Filmed from the venue's balcony, fans can watch footage of Frehley and his band run through a number of KISS classics, solo tunes, and covers of tracks by Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy and Mountain that appeared on the rocker's "Origins" album series. (read more)


Prog legends Yes have that they will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their "Close To The Edge" album on their upcoming UK Tour this June.

The trek, which was delayed two times due to the pandemic, was originally planned to celebrate their 1974 album, "Relayer", but will now include a performance of the full "Close To The Edge" album, along with select songs from their catalog. (read more)


Placebo have announced that they will be launching their first North American tour in eight years in September in support of their forthcoming album, "Never Let Me Go."

The tour will be kicking off on September 4th in Vancouver, BC at The Commodore Ballroom and will wrap up on September 18th in New York City at Brooklyn Steel. (read more)


Thrice have announced that they will be teaming up with Bayside this summer for a U.S. coheadlining tour that will feature support from special guest Anxious.

The tour is scheduled to launch on June 3rd in McKees Rocks, PA at The Roxian Theatre and will be wrapping up on June 21st in Austin, TX at Emo's, with tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday, March 11th at 12pm ET on www.thrice.net (read more)


(hennemusic) The Scorpions are sharing a lyric video for "Gas In The Tank," a track from the band's newly-released album, "Rock Believer." Written by founder and guitarist Rudolf Schenker, the song is the opening cut on the group's nineteenth studio record, which they recorded with producer Hans-Martin Buff in their German hometown during the pandemic after originally planning to work in America.

"In a way, the situation was a blessing in disguise for us," explains guitarist Matthias Jabs, as it gave the Scorpions the opportunity to work close to home. (read more)


Porcupine Tree have announced their first tour in 12 years with a new leg announced for North and South American this fall to promote their latest album, "Closure/Continuation".

They will be kicking things off on September 10th in Toronto Ontario at the Meridian Hall and will wrap up with on October 7th in Santiago, Chili at the Movistar Arena. (read more)


The Cavalera brothers will be celebrating the Sepultura albums "Beneath The Remains" and "Arise" with their Max & Iggor Return Beneath Arise Tour this spring.

The Graham Bonnet Band have premiered a music video for their new single "Imposter". The track comes from their forthcoming album, "Day Out In Nowhere", which is due May 13th.

14-year-old songwriter and guitarist Jack Barksdale just released his new album, "Death Of A Hummingbird", and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the track "Man In The Ground". Here is the story:

The song "Man in the Ground" is about the lengths people will go to to be remembered. I wrote this song with my friend Keegan McInroe. Keegan and I have a mutual affinity for Tom Waits - Keegan actually introduced me to Tom Waits' music, so we thought we'd aim for that kind of sound. It ended up a little more clean-cut though.
