Country music legend Dolly Parton has asked that her nomination for the 2022 class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame be withdrawn so that it will not deprive a rock artist of induction.

While Parton certainly qualifies for induction under the controversial Cleveland institution's extremely loose definition of "rock and roll" that includes rap and pop. However, Dolly's personal integrity convinced her to ask to be withdrawn for consideration because she has not earned the honor as a rock artist. (read more)


Pearl Jam have announced the rescheduled dates for their previously postponed 2020 North American Tour in support of their latest album, Gigaton, and have added new stops to the trek.

The tour was originally scheduled for the spring of 2020 but was pushed back due to pandemic. The band will finally be launching the trek on May 3rd in San Diego, CA at the Viejas Arena. (read more)


Incubus have announced that they will returning to the road this summer for a U.S. tour that will feature special guests Sublime With Rome and The Aquadolls.

They will be kicking off the tour on July 24th in West Palm Beach, FL at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre tour and will conclude the trek on September 3rd in Bend, OR at the Hayden Homes Amphitheater. (read more)


Alexisonfire have announced a string of North American Tour dates, as well as their planned music festival appearances, in support of their first new album in 13 years.

The band will be releasing the 10-track new record, entitled "Otherness", on June 24th. Their new headline dates are set to kick off on May 19th in Nashville and run through October 9th in Anaheim. (read more)


Misery Index have released a music video for their brand new single "The Eaters And The Eaten", which is the lead single from their forthcoming album.

The band had this to say about the new track, "The Eaters and the Eaten is the most straight-forward, blasting track on the album. It's utterly relentless and hammers home the key themes of exploitation and drudgery that define life for so many on the planet in our current age." (read more)


San Diego rockers Pierce the Veil have announced that they will be crossing the pond in December to launch what will be their first UK tour in six years.

The tour is set to kick off December 1st in Cardiff at The Great Hall, includes two nights at the O2 Forum in London, and will wrap up on December 10th in Leeds at the O2 Academy. (read more)


Incite have released a visualizer video for their new single "War Soup," which features a guest appearance from Max Cavalera, and comes from their forthcoming album, "Wake Up Dead" (out April 8th).

"War Soup" marks the first time that Max and Richie Cavalera shared vocals on the same track. Richie had this to say, "Our new jam, 'War Soup,' is one of the most kickass songs we've ever made! It's brutal, it's groovy, and it's got Max Cavalera ripping vocals with us! (read more)


Daryl Hall has added a second leg to his first upcoming U.S. spring tour, which is his solo trek in a decade that will be feature support from Todd Rundgren.

The Hall & Oats frontman, who made headlines last week after he revealed that he was asked to replace David Lee Roth in Van Halen, will be launching the tour in support of his forthcoming solo retrospective, "BeforeAfter" (out April 1st). (read more)


Ghost offshoot Priest have released a music video for their brand new single "Techno Girl", which finds the group sonically morphing into a synth wave band.

"Techno Girl" follows the group's late 2021 single "A Signal In The Noise" and is said to trade "the distorted guitars of Priest's former gig, as the musical backbone of the Grammy award winning metal band Ghost, for icy synths and throbbing drums to craft a memorably melodic ode to female badassery." Helmet have announced that they have canceled their European and UK Tour, that was set to kick off next month, due to "several circumstances beyond our control"

They shared the following on social media,"We were so looking forward to returning to Europe and getting back out on the road this Spring. After the past 2 1/2 years of Covid crushing live music we'd started rehearsals and even played 2 shows in LA. (read more)


Chicago-based sludge rockers Cokegoat have shared the first part of their two-part visualizer series for their forthcoming reimagining of the Pink Floyd classic "Dogs".

They will be releasing the cover song on April 8th, along with bringing the two parts of the visualizer together for the final music video that will be shared on the song's release date. (read more)


The Police have shared a preview for their forthcoming expanded reissue package, "The Police: Around The World Restored & Expanded", which will be released on May 20th.

Mercury Studios will be releasing the package in various formats including DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD, and DVD+LP (pressed on silver vinyl). Originally available on VHS and laserdisc, the film is being presented on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time, with restored picture and remastered audio, as well as complete performances of four bonus songs featured in the documentary. The Rolling Stones have announced that they are celebrating their 60th anniversary with their SIXTY Tour which will feature 14 concerts across Europe this summer.

The stadium and arena trek will visit Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), Liverpool (UK), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bern (Switzerland), Milan (Italy), London (UK), Brussels (Belgium), Vienna (Austria), Lyon (France), Paris (France), Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden). (read more)


Don Broco have announced that they have been forced to postpon their planned North American spring tour "due to a personal family circumstance."

They will set to kick off the trek, with support from The Plot In You and The Color 8, early next month. The band shared this message about the change in plans, "To our dear North American fans, we are so sorry to inform you that we are having postpone our upcoming tour of the USA and Canada. Fleshgod Apocalypse frontman Francesco Paoli shared that he has undergone additional surgery due to injuries that he suffered in a rock climbing accident in August of last year.

He shared the following update with fans, "Hey everyone, after a long time I can finally update you on my recovery status. I perfectly know that these times bring more important issues to be concerned of, but I also know that some of you care about my situation and I promised to keep you updated. (read more)


Ricky Warwick has revealed that Black Star Riders has finished recording their new album and the record is currently being mastered, with the goal of releasing it in January of next year.

Warwick shared the news during a new interview with Overdrive when asked about the follow-up to their 2019 album "Another State Of Grace". (read more)


The 40th anniversary of Asia's self-titled debut album is being celebrated by the syndicated radio show In The Studio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands.

Redbeard had this to say, "Asia was the 1980s' first 'supergroup', including Emerson Lake and Palmer drummer Carl Palmer, former King Crimson/ Roxy Music / UK singer/ bass player the late John Wetton, Buggles vid-kid Geoff Downes on keyboards, and Yes guitarist Steve Howe. (read more)


Midlake have shared a live performance video for their recent single "Noble". The track comes from their forthcoming album, "For the Sake of Bethel Woods", which arrives this Friday, March 18th.

The video was filmed at Modern Electric Sound Recorders in Dallas, Texas, and was directed by Rett Rogers. The song is named for drummer McKenzie Smith's infant son Noble who was born with a rare brain disorder. (read more)


Alt rockers Yours Truly have shared their brand new single "Lights On," along with an accompanied music video. The visual was written by vocalist Mikaila Delgado.

She had this to say about the song, "'Lights On' is about challenging the way you view yourself and how much that is influenced by other people. Doing impulsive things to come off as adventurous and fun while you feel like you're falling apart behind the scenes. (read more)
