Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May took to Instagram early Saturday morning (December 18th) to share the news with fans that he has tested positive for Covid-19.

May shared a photo of his positive test on the social media site and captured the image, "Yep. The shocking day finally came for me. The dreaded double red line. (read more)


(hennemusic) Metallica kicked off their 40th anniversary celebrations in San Francisco, CA on Thursday (December 17th) as Mayor London Breed declared "Metallica Day" in the city.

Drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo received news of the honor form the Mayor during a ceremony at the city's Chase Center, notes KPIX 5 San Francisco, where the band will perform a pair of concerts this weekend. (read more)


Music legend Eric Clapton has announced a Christmas Eve treat for fans when he will released his brand new single that will be entitled "Heart Of A Child".

He is joined on the song by drummer Sonny Emory, bassist Nathan East, Dirk Powell on mandolin, guitarists Daniel Santiago and Pedro Martins, Simon Climie on keyboards and percussion, Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on background vocals, as well Nick Ingman as the string arranger and conductor and Everton Nelson as the string leader. Organizers for the second annual A Bowie Celebration have announced that Oasis star Noel Gallagher has been added to the lineup for the special all-star event.

The Acacia Strain shared the bad news on Friday (December 17th) that members of their touring party have tested positive for Covid-19 that has forced them to postpone the final dates of their current tour.

The band launched the trek back on November 7th with Kublai Khan, Orthodox, and Dying Wish as support and it was scheduled to conclude with two shows in Albany, New York. (read more)


Megadeth had a top 21 story from May 2021 when they announced on May 24th that they had officially parted ways with cofounding member David Ellefson following the leak of explicit conversations with an unnamed woman.

Frontman Dave Mustaine had the following to say about their decision to let David go, "We are informing our fans that David Ellefson is no longer playing with Megadeth and that we are officially parting ways with him. We do not take this decision lightly. (read more)


Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor earned a top 21 story from May 2021 after he revealed that he believes that he will follow the Sex Pistol's example if ever inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and reject the induction.

The controversial institution has a long history of angering rock fans by snubbing rock related artists in favor of pop and rap stars and again caused an uproar this year when they failed to name metal legends Iron Maiden among the artists who will receive induction this year. (read more)

May's idea to create the anthemic opening track on the band's sixth studio album, "News Of The World", came to him one night after Queen performed before what he considered an unusually enthusiastic crowd on their A Day At The Races Tour. (read more)


Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson scored a top 21 story from May 2021 after he revealed in an interview with Download: Reloaded that he underwent hip replacement surgery several months previous.

Bruce told Download festival host Kylie Olsson, "I had a new hip installed several months ago. So, I got five and a half inches of titanium hammered into my leg. 'Cause I run around on stage and jump, and [after] 40 years of fencing left-handed, it was just worn out. (read more)


Legendary metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne had a top 21 story from May 2021 after he shared that he considers late Motorhead icon Lemmy Kilmister to be the "All-Time Rock God", during an interview with BBC's Johnnie Walker.

The former Black Sabbath frontman recalled collaborating with Lemmy on one of his biggest solo hits. Ozzy shared, "My rock god is Lemmy Kilmister. Lemmy was a guy - he shot from the hip every time. 'That sucks,' or, 'I like that.' (read more)


The Compulsions had a top 21 story from May 2021 after frontman Rob Carlyle revealed in an interview that he tried to recruit Guns N' Roses icons Slash and Matt Sorum to join the band.

The group has featured Guns N' Roses stars like Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Frank Ferrer and Richard Fortus, as well as David Bowie guitarist Earl Slick. The Stone Temple Pilots had a top 21 story from May 2021 after they shared a previously-unreleased "early version" of their 1996 single, "Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart".

The track was released as a preview to the expanded reissued of their third album, "Tiny Music...Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop," which was released in July and features a remastered version of the album, along with rare alternate versions of tracks and their full at the Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, FL concert from March of 1997.
