(hennemusic) Original Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has issued his first statement regarding recent headlines about a possible Van Halen tribute tour.

After former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted leaked news of his invitation to participate in the project during an interview with The Palm Beach Post last week, guitarist Joe Satriani told the "Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen" podcast that he has been in talks with Roth and Alex Van Halen "for about a year about doing something...a tour, something like that...that was gonna be a true tribute to Eddie and the Van Halen legacy." Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford will be living up to his Metal God moniker with the release of his brand new book, BIBLICAL: Rob Halford's Heavy Metal Scriptures," which will released in hardcover on November 11th by Hachette Books

Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe tested positive for Covid-19 and that that forced him to sit out the band's concert on Tuesday night (April 19th) in Grand Rapids.

The band had this to say, "Randy Blythe tested positive for COVID over the weekend and has been isolating away from the rest of the band. While his symptoms have been mild and he's on the mend, he will not be able to perform tonight at the Van Andel Arena. (read more)


(hennemusic) The Soundgarden/Nirvana supergroup 3rd Secret are sharing a live performance video for "I Choose Me", the opening track from their newly-released self-titled album debut.

The lineup of Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, Void guitarist Bubba Dupree, and vocalists Jennifer Johnson and Jillian Raye were captured during a secret show at Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture last month. (hennemusic) Jack White has debuted at No. 1 on nine US charts with the recent release of his brand new studio album, "Fear Of The Dawn," according to Billboard.

They report that the project sold 42,000 equivalent album units earned to lead Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, Alternative Albums, Rock Albums, Digital Albums, Current Digital Albums, Current Internet Albums, and Record Label Independent via White's own Third Man Records. Bleed the Sky have announced that they have parted ways with vocalist Noah Robinson, and have shared a teaser for their forthcoming single that will debut their new frontman.

They had this to say, "Since releasing our last album, This Way Lies Madness, in Jan of 2020, we have been working hard to consistently put out new music, schedule tours, etc. During this process, we realized as a group, that all band members were not aligned with the future goals for Bleed the Sky. Megadeth offshoot The Lucid have released a music video for their new single "Hair", which was directed by and starring award winning horror icon Hannah Fierman (V/H/S, SiREN, Creepshow).

The band features vocalist Vinnie Dombroski, bassist David Ellefson, guitarist/actor Drew Fortier, and drummer Mike Heller. Drew had this to say about the new video, "It was fascinating to watch Hannah unleash her remarkable creativity for this music video. We are all thrilled and moved by what she was able to accomplish visually with this song. (read more)


Down, the metal supergroup featuring Pantera's Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity, Kirk Windstein of Crowbar, Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod, drummer and Pat Bruders (Goatwhore and Crowba), have announced some live dates this spring and summer.

The group have announced three U.S. performances in May that includes a set at this year's Welcome To Rockville festival, and shows in Atlanta and Dallas, TX. (read more)


Dierks Bentley has scored his 21st career No. 1 single after his latest track, "Beers On Me," topped the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart and Billboard's Country Airplay chart this week.

Aldo Nova has released his brand new triple disc ALDO NOVA 2.0 RELOADED collection. It features 2.0 versions of nine classic songs from ALDO's catalog, plus another disc with no lead vocal track and a third disc with no lead guitar track so fans can either sing along or play along with him.

Of Monsters and Men have released a music video for their brand new single "This Happiness". The song sets the stage for the group's forthcoming EP out June 10th and its accompanying documentary - both titled TIU (meaning ten in Icelandic).

The documentary, directed by their friend Dean DeBlois (Heima, Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon), follows the band on a trip around their homeland of Iceland. (read more)

(hennemusic) The Ohio State University Spring Athletic Band performed a Van Halen tribute during its halftime show at Ohio Stadium as part of Ohio State's spring football game at home in Columbus on April 16.

The outfit delivered a medley of classic Van Halen tracks, including "Runnin' With the Devil," "Dreams," "Panama" and "Jump", while also recreating the California band's original era logo and the titles of a few of the featured songs, among other images. (read more)


Vader have announced that they will be heading Down Under for a brand new tour of Australia and New Zealand this October that will features support from Thy Disease.

The Museum at Bethel Woods, the National Register Historic Site of the 1969 Woodstock Music & Art Fair, is working on compiling an archive of oral histories of Woodstock from the people who experienced it firsthand.

The Museum is asking festival alumni to connect, and arrange for their stories to be heard and recorded. The goal is for these combined narratives to tell the untold story of the festival, preserving them for generations to come. (read more)
