Megaforce Records founder Jon "Jonny Z" Zazula, who famously helped launch the career of Metallica, passed away on Tuesday, February 1st, at the age of 69.

Rikki Zaula broke the sad news to fans via social media with the following, "The world lost a true legend today... Our Dad lived a life as fast, hard, heavy, powerful, and, impactful as the music he brought to the world. His passion and persistence fueled the careers of arguably the most influential metal bands, and, industry greats of a generation. (read more)


(hennemusic) Nirvana are seeking the dismissal of an amended lawsuit against the band brought by the man who was photographed for the cover of their 1991 album, "Nevermind."

According to Rolling Stone, lawyers for the group filed a new motion in a federal court in Los Angeles requesting that Spencer Elden's second amended complaint - filed January 12 - should be dismissed with prejudice, meaning he wouldn't be allowed to pursue further legal action on the same grounds. (hennemusic) Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators will launch their new record, "4", with a full album performance livestream on Friday, February 11.

Available via YouTube, the "Live At Studios 60" event will see Slash, Kennedy, drummer Brent Fitz, bassist Todd Kerns and guitarist Frank Sidoris run through all 10 songs on the project, which was recorded at the historic RCA Studio A to Nashville, TN with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile). (hennemusic) Metallica are sharing pro-shot video of the debut live performance of their 1997 rarity, "Fixxxer", from the first of two sold-out 40th anniversary concerts last month in San Francisco, CA.

The band delivered the closing track from "Reload" during a December 17 show at the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations. (read more)


The Devon Allman Project and Samantha Fish have announced that they will be teaming up to launch an eastern U.S. coheadlining tour this spring.

The 19-date tour will be kicking off on March 3rd in Kent, OH at The Kent Stage and will is set to conclude on March 26th in Hopewell, VA at The Beacon Theatre. (read more)


Royal Blood have announced that they have added two additional dates to their upcoming North American tour in support of their third album "Typhoons"

The newly added dates, both in California, will be taking place on May 4th at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, CA, and May 5th at The Novo in Los Angeles. (read more)


Austin rockers White Label Analog recently released their new single "Feelin' It" and to celebrate we asked vocalist Chris Didear to tell us about the song. Here is the story:

"Feelin' it" started out with the title "B145" because early in the songwriting process, it helps to us to remember the key the song is in and the tempo. Due to Covid being such a factor in people getting together in the same space, it has been necessary to do more remote songwriting and pre-production. So, using the key and tempo as a temporary song title, it helps ensure that it doesn't get transposed swapping project files back and forth in our DAWs. (continue)
